It sounds a bit like Jules Verne’s classic “Around the World in 80 Days.” But instead of multiple forms of transportation, this journey is almost completely by rail. Railbookers, a company owned by Yankee Leisure Group, has launched a new Around the World by Rail vacation, giving travelers the opportunity to discover the most sought-after destinations and experiences all in one trip. The company emphasizes that this is not merely a train vacation, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime journey featuring unforgettable moments and adventures that are rarely seen together in a single itinerary.

This 57-day trip is a bucket-list itinerary for those interested in traversing across four continents, 15 countries, 20-plus cities, and four U.S. national parks while enjoying some of the greatest train rides along the way.

Travelers will ride from Chicago to New York, then venture across the Atlantic to London and Paris.. They’ll experience Geneva, Rome, Venice, Vienna, Prague, Copenhagen and Moscow. They will travel onboard the legendary Trans-Siberian Railway to Ulaanbaatar, and tour the Great Wall and Summer Palace in Beijing.

In Xian and Hong Kong, travelers will visit the famed Terracotta Warriors and take in views from Victoria Bay. Once they reach Perth, Australia, they’ll board the luxurious Indian Pacific Train for an ocean-to-ocean adventure to Sydney. Back on U.S. soil, they’ll board Amtrak’s Southwest Chief and California Zephyr trains to journey to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, as well as Zion, Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef National Parks.

Indeed, this trip is all about the trains. The journey include rides on Amtrak’s Southwest Chief, California Zephyr, and Lake Shore Limited, high-speed bullet trains in China, Sapsan high-speed train in Russia, Trans-Siberian railway from Moscow to Ulaanbaatar, and the Indian Pacific in Australia, among other trains.

The program features many inclusions, such as sightseeing tours, skip the line access to landmarks, walking tours and 52 meals. Starting at about $342 a day per person, the tour includes diverse trains and routes, landscapes, cultures, cuisine, architectural marvels, and landmarks and attractions. The overall price for the complete 57-day journey starts a $16,079 per person.
